He late appeared around Favorite Unit Two & Undeclared. He landed a role of Clark Kent on Smallville after a countrywide lookup for a newly face to play the a portion. It's been rumored that Tom turned down the section twice prior to accepting. Around December 2003 he played the oldest boy of Steve Martin in the big screen adaptation of Cheaper by the Dozen. He married Jamie White in July 5, 2002, in Martha's Vineyard, after a three year relationship. He presently lives within Vancouver, where a motion-picture photography of the WB series Smallville takes place.
